How do I select a site for my playset?
- The final area where you want the playset to sit needs to be flat and level. If the ground is not level, the playset will not be level, and possibly be unsafe.
- Pick a site in your yard that is level and free of rocks, stumps, tall grass, trees, and anything that could be in the way of the playset or the 6’ safety zone around it.
- The area should not normally collect water or be muddy. you should be able to firmly step without sinking.
- ASTM Guidelines recommend a 6-foot safety zone around your entire playset. Add this safety zone to the dimensions shown for the playset model you are purchasing.
Should I inventory the parts?
- Please make sure that all of the boxes have arrived. You don't have to open any sealed boxes. Though, if any boxes arrive open or damaged, please check and see if anything is damaged or missing. Boxes usually contain an inventory sheet.
Is there anything I should do to prepare for my assembly day?
- Please be sure that the playset area and the surrounding work area is clear and unobstructed.
- If your playset is on grass, it should be freshly mowed. It makes it very difficult to find any dropped screws in tall grass. We do not want a child to be injured that may step on a sharply pointed screw after the assembly.
- If you are using a fill such as mulch, wood chips, pea gravel, etc., please add this AFTER the playset is assembled and installed. The playset must sit on, and be anchored to the solid ground.
- Keep children away from the work area until we give the okay to start playing.
- Keep all dogs inside or leashed away from the work area until we leave. Please be sure that all pet feces have been cleaned up in the area, and that all lawn sprinklers have been turned off.
- Please cancel lawn care/pesticide services for the day.
- Ensure that all lawn sprinklers have been turned off and marked clearly with a stake or flag.
Rain Date?
- We usually work through the rain if we can. If steady rain is predicted for the day or a good part of the day, we will have to cancel and reschedule on the next possible day. We usually leave weekends open for this occasion.
What time do you arrive?
- We typically arrive between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. unless previously discussed. We will call you if we are going to be more than 5 or 10 minutes late.
Do I have to be there?
- We need you or an adult representative at least 18 years of age be home during the installation. This individual must have the authority to authorize the correct placement of the swing set and to make decisions or answer questions that may come up. Moving the swing set after installation will result in additional charges. If you must leave, please make sure that we can reach you and please know that if you are not home to show us exactly where you want it, it might not end up exactly where you want it to be. Example: It may look different from your kitchen than where we are as we are assembling it.
Do you do the leveling for my playset?
- We do not provide landscaping or earthmoving services for steep slopes. We do not have the equipment or tools to do so, nor is there enough time for us to do this and assemble the playset within one workday. Due to the distance that we usually travel it is more cost-effective for you to hire a local landscaper.
- From experience a lot of landscapers make it look good and apply a covering or landscaping fabric. Let them know that a structure will be sitting on this area so if it is not level (which is what you hired them for) they should expect to come back to finish the job at no additional charge. Do your homework. You won't regret it.
- We can also do minor leveling for an additional charge.
Can I level it myself?
- If it is not too steep of a slope you can certainly level it yourself. There are some good DIY videos online that help make it fairly easy to level the area with a shovel. If it is off more than a couple inches you may need to hire someone.
Can you do any alterations to my playset?
- We assemble your Playset exactly as instructed in the assembly manual. Alterations may cause damage to the Playset, or other safety and liability issues.
Can I help?
- We are pretty good at what we do. Though you may want to be helpful and we enjoy your company, it actually usually slows us down. We want to get the job done properly so curious and helpful adults don't need to offer help at all. Thanks though!
Do you Guarantee your work?
- We guarantee that your playset will be assembled exactly according to the Manuel. Also if you noticed something wrong, within 30 days, we will come back and fix it for free. We can not be held liable if a customer approved an area for an assembly that is not level.
Message us with any other questions. Thanks!
